News, news… get your Moth news here! 🙂
Oh, hey there. Remember this book?
Yes, it has been almost two years since Moth’s first adventure hit shelves and e-readers in the UK (and Australia). We finally saw an international ‘import’ edition in the US earlier this year (April 2014). I find it hard to believe that it has been that long, but it really has.
I wrote the second book, Hunting the Dark, during the first half of last year. There were some delays at the time, a couple of months of that were totally my fault due to serious family illness, so I was late delivering my first rewrite. But after that we were back on track. Only… then there was a little something called a merger between my publisher, Random House, and Penguin. Two giants becoming one even bigger… giant. 😉 These things affect publishing schedules and jobs and authors. Despite the sad loss of my editor (the third editor I’ve had at Random House, actually – and they’ve all been lovely!), I can now confirm that Book 2 IS going ahead.
Hunting the Dark WILL be published in January 2015. Not long to wait, which makes me very happy! This book is darker, more action-packed and more romantic than the first, and I really hope people are still excited to read it. I’m pretty excited myself, and can’t wait to revisit it in copy-edits next month.
And it’s up for pre-order on Amazon UK and Amazon US. Check your own country’s ebook retailers to see if it’s available yet – I know it is already on most of the Amazon sites across Europe. (The book is in English, though.)
The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed something. Yes, at the moment there will only be an ebook edition. After the many changes at my publishing house I am just glad to see it finally released – and so soon! But the downside for those who prefer a paperback… I’m sorry to say that it won’t be available. Will we ever see a hard copy release? Well, never say never, I suppose. But I’m not expecting it. A lot of publishers have digital-only imprints now and that is going to be Moth’s new home. I am very glad that she has a home, so I hope that you will still be able to read her new adventure. It’s a good one!
Thanks for your patience, and for the constant nudges and questions I get from readers, such as “Where is Moth?” “What happened to Book 2??” Even when I couldn’t give you answers, I appreciated your continued enthusiasm.
Oh, and a quick note to say that the ebook of Falling to Ash is currently only £2.99 in the UK. Grab it while you can! 🙂
More updates as I have them – I’ll share some kind of blurb/synopsis as soon as I can. The best way to keep up with Moth updates (and all other Kaz news) is to sign up for my newsletter, either in this direct link or in the sidebar of the website. I’ll be sending one out in October and will hopefully be able to debut a bit more Moth news then.
