Falling to Ash: Cover!

You’ll have to excuse me not posting winners to the Friends With Boys giveaway (which I totally intended to do today), but look what I have!

This is the almost final cover to Falling to Ash. It’s already up on Amazon UK – and therefore some intrepid bloggers have found it – so Editor Jess and I decided I might as put it here, too. 😉 It shouldn’t change much in the coming weeks, but the image isn’t ‘top’ quality and there might be a tweak or two. Otherwise… What do you think?

I love the moths coming out of her hair – such a gorgeous effect. Also, moths on the swirly bits (which will be finished with shiny foil)!

  1. Oh, wow! That is so unique. The moths are a great touch, very unusual. I can’t wait to have this in my hands ^_^ Congratulations on a beautiful cover, Kaz! I’m sure the contents will be just as wonderful.

  3. Its a lovely cover but have to say my personal preference is not to see the face I like to make up in my own mind what they look like once you see a picture thats the face I tend to put with the main character. (Shes not like whos in my head) When I read I tend to have a video in my head that plays out. (OK so Im bongers at my age Im allowed)

  4. It’s so lovely! I love the timelessness of the image. And it reminds me of a Dutch edition of Vampire Academy because tones and of the hair which turns into flying creatures ^^

  5. Oh Kaz, it’s amazing to see this project coming to fruition! What a triumph–and the cover is different to the Dona covers but still thematically linked, and evocative in its own way. Congratulations and love!

  9. I LOVE that the swirls and shiny bits tie in with the Iron Witch series. I know they are totally separate, but it links them to you as an author – and helps them sell! (And look pretty on the shelf!)

  11. The picture is nice, but what I really like is the font choice, and the way it says “A Moth Novel” right there on an almost finished cover!

    1. I’m waiting to find out myself, actually! Will let you know. 🙂

I suspect it’ll turn out to be manipulated stock photo, but I could be wrong. It’s a great job, either way.
