In which Kaz makes another list…

No, not that kind of list (like, a writing/publishing list… lol). But I’m finding it far easier to blog in list form, so you might see a bit more of that in the future. Or at least, until I get bored with it.

1. I am really, really fed up with getting migraines. And I have been back to my doctor and we tweaked the medication not so long ago; and yes, it did seem to be working. Until the last few days, that is, when I had a 48-hour migraine which is only just easing up now. This does not make for a happy Kaz (although it does seem to make her talk about herself in the 3rd-person, for some strange reason).

2. Having shipped off all packages of The Iron Witch to various winners, I am now working my way through the bookplate requests. Please do keep writing in (email me with ‘Bookplate’ in the subject line) if you’d like one. Again, they are so ridiculously homemade, but kind of cute… Also, each one is one-of-a-kind, and you’ll see what I mean by that when you get yours. *shifty eyes* I think I’ll send you a very quick ‘standard’ email response when your bookplate is in the mail, just so you know it’s on the way.

3. I’ve been babbling about this on Twitter, but remember my post about Wonder Woman’s new costume? (How could you forget, right? *g*) Oh, wow… I am so happy! Photos of Adrianne Palicki during early shooting of the pilot have started leaking out, and they have changed the costume!

I like to think that David E. Kelley was reading my blog, but I should be realistic and admit that probably isn’t what happened. 😉 Still, looks like Christmas came early for Kaz: the costume is a little less bright; the ‘pants’ are much better now in that darker blue; and the boots are red (RED!!) just the way they should be. *geeks out* Oh, and the boots are flat, which is way more sensible. Okay, so it still looks as though one sharp tug would bring the bustier tumbling down, but you can’t have everything – and that’s the way the costume has always been, anyway. I am a very happy fangirl!

Thanks to DC Women Kicking Ass for the pics! There are also lots more to see here in the io9 gallery.

4. And while we’re on the subject of geekiness, I would quite like a pair of these (even though I never imagined I would ever want something made by Reebok):

Let’s just zoom in on the laces, shall we?

So cute! Apparently, they’re called the ‘Femme Fatale’ (um… really?), though in the product description it also says they’re known as the ‘Wonder Woman’. Heh.

I was trying to talk myself out of wanting them, because they’re kind of dodgy-looking, so I said to my friend: “Can you really see me wearing those?”

He replied: “Sadly, yes.”

So there you have it, people. I officially have no taste – but I don’t care! 🙂

  1. I WANT those shoes!!! So very desperately.

That costume is SO much better! And thank you whoever chose to keep the boots flat rather than giving her absurd heels!

Have your tried changing your diet for the migraines? I don’t get them, so I’m not much help, but I have several friends who get them, and they’ve found that cutting certain things out of their diet (weird things, like no garlic) helped reduce migraines. I’m told that you can research possible food that might exacerbate migraines on the internet.

    1. Now I’m hearing that the flat boots may just be for ‘action scenes’ and they will add in the heels later… I am sad to think this might be true. *swallows* We’ll have to wait and see.

I have tried doing a few different things with diet, but to be honest I think my migraines are more stress/hormone-related. Although, I suppose diet can also help those things. Also, staring at a computer screen that is slowly dying and is really getting more and more faded. Heh. I need a new laptop. (Badly.)

  2. OMG SHOES! So not a Reebok fan – but those SHOES!

Of course, I have no shame when it comes to Wonder Woman apparel. *looks at collection of t-shirts*…*remembers owning TWO sets of WW Underoos as a kid*…*whistles*

And of course, I’m still lusting after the MAC make-up.

My sympathies about the migraine sadness – both of my step-daughters get them, so I know about the pain. 🙁

    1. Yeah, I had that Reebok reaction, but then was like… I LOVE THEM ANYWAY!!

Dude, I still own WW Underoos… Yeah, I totally know how to work it. 😉 Oh, and I want that MAC make-up, too!! *sigh*

  3. I just got Entangled in the mail! I’m excited. Gonna start it today…

I like lists too. Although they may only be fun to a certain point, because after a while it might get repetitive XD

AGGHHH why is The Wood Queen coming out a year from now? WHY? *Goes to mope in a corner* I need to do my homework.

    1. Haha!! I’m already bored with the lists, so don’t worry. 😉

Re. The Wood Queen: Tell me about it!! I have to wait, too. Then again, I’m still working on it… Rewriting parts of it so it sucks less.

  4. I think that costume looks much better, tbh – and I love that they changed the colour of the boots! Much nicer having the contrast.
The bookplates sound great, I’m looking forward to mine 🙂

    1. The boots have to be red. They HAVE to be. *tries to breathe* 😉

  5. Yeah, I haven’t been feeling Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman. The costume change does help, but I’ve seen too many pictures where that really don’t depict her as an Amazonian princess like Linda Carter was. She seriously looks like she’s wearing a bad wig half the time.

    1. I thought that about the wig, too, but then I figured out that the dodgy shots are when it’s her stunt double. (I think – I could be wrong!)

And I agree with you about the Amazonian princess thing. That’s an excellent point: Diana is supposed to have grace and poise.
