BEDM #30: one more day to go

(BEDM* is my attempt to blog each day of May – just to see if I can.)

So, I’ve been blogging every day for 30 days. There are 31 days in May – hence the title of this post – and I’m beginning to think about what I ‘learned’ from this little exercise.

I didn’t set out with a particular goal – unlike the wonderful Jaclyn Moriarty.

I just decided, on the spur-of-the-moment, to give it a go and see if it threw up anything interesting.

I guess I’ll have more to say about it tomorrow, but until then I will say this:

I’m so grateful to the people who have taken the time to read my daily ramblings. Sometimes I really didn’t have much to say – and it showed – while other times I tried to offer Real Content (whatever that is). There were times I wondered whether anyone cared, but my StatCounter assured me that they did. Other days… wow, I got some lovely comments. Thank you! I appreciate the fact that I’ve got friends out there who seem genuinely interested in my tiny corner of the interwebs. *offers hugs all round*

But mostly, if I can think of reasons why or benefits of doing this… I guess I have to say that it’s shown me my limits. It has also demonstrated that I might do better to blog when I really have something to say. I think this probably fits in with my plan to post about writing/publishing stuff over here, and more personal stuff on LiveJournal. That’s not to say I won’t be blogging regularly, but it certainly won’t be every day!

I’ve been stuck in the Revision Cave for most of this month, and the last few days I’ve had my head down and am working hard. Blogging, for me, is one way of reaching out while I’m also reaching in. If that makes any sense at all. I find editing very, very hard. I have to dig deep and travel to places within myself that are dark and difficult – I face a lot of resistance. So… yeah… blogging helps with that.

Tomorrow, I have something special as a way of saying ‘thank you’ – but you will have to come back and see what it is then. If you’re away for the US holiday (it’s a holiday here in the UK, too) well, you might miss out. Just sayin’. ;)

Awesome achievement – I can barely manage to blog once a month! I’ll be back tomorrow for your last blog of May :-)

Wooo! Go you! I can’t believe May is over already *stares* :|

    *takes offered hugs*

    *slinks back to work*

I could use a dose of motivation. Preferably infused in a cupcake. Or something chocolate-y. No, I’m not demanding at all. ;-)

Of course I’m interested in what you have to say! I started reading your posts at the dames, and I really liked you, so I decided to check out your blog. I’m glad I did. You’re smart AND funny. :)
Ooh, now I’m interested. I wonder what you have up your sleeve…

Something special tomorrow? What is it? What is it? Is it ice cream?!

I think you’ve done an awesome job this month, Kaz. I couldn’t do it, that’s for sure. You’re a star! x

What about your rumoured “blog every day for a year” attempt? Oh that’s right, I’m just starting that rumour now :)

    Hi Karen,
It’s Jamie from LJ I was wondering where you went to. For the record, I don’t mind if you cross-post. Though it would be easier if they could be linked, you know what I mean? Either way I will just add this website blog to my “author blogs” especially if you are going to be over here more, please don’t forget LJ though,we miss you over there.
Congratulations on being published. :) I hope to be there with you guys soon. :)

    • Kaz says:

      Hey, you! :)

Oh, I’m still on LJ – just not as much. I would never forget my LJ friends. In fact, you’ll be seeing a LOT more of me over the summer!

And thanks so much for the good wishes. I’m sure you’ll get wherever you want to go – just hang in there!
