In Which Kaz Has a ‘Book Fairy’

Do you have a Book Fairy? If you don’t, then you should find one… stat!

I don’t know if I’m allowed to reveal my Book Fairy’s true identity, so for now she shall remain anonymous – silent and deadly like a ninja. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m so grateful for having a chance to read these novels early – I know how lucky I am. More and more YA books seem to be releasing in hardcover, too, and I wonder how people afford it. Right now I’m out of work (re. Day Job to support my writing), so my book-buying has been cut waaay back. Thanks to my Book Fairy I not only get to read four books I’ve been DYING to read – I’m able to do so early. Thank you, thank you! You know who you are. *hugs*

I am on a tight deadline to return these ARCs so they can be reviewed, therefore all other reading has to wait while I devour the following (click each image to find out more):

I will definitely let you all know what I think of them!

Oh, and speaking of Melissa Marr’s books, if you’re a fan of her work – and/or of INK EXCHANGE in particular (like me!) – check out her post today with links to the first part of a free tie-in eStory: ‘Stopping Time’.

If a Book Fairy could bring you something early… which book would you want them to deliver to your door?

On top of 3 out of the 4 you have listed above, I want LINGER. Oh, book fairy, bring it to me!

  2. Tez Miller says:

“I donโ€™t know if Iโ€™m allowed to reveal my Book Fairyโ€™s true identity, so for now she shall remain anonymous โ€“ silent and deadly like a ninja. ;)”

So which is she – a fairy or a ninja? She can’t be both! But ninjas are way more awesome, so I’d say your mysterious acquaintance is a Book Ninja ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. Zita Hildebrandt says:

I’m a huge fan of Jayne Ann Krentz/Amanda Quick. Amanda’s next book comes out April 20. If you could drop a word into your boof fairy’s ear, I would greatly appreciate it and not even mention that when you wrote “silent and deadly” about your fairy, ninja was not the first thought that came to mind (pull my finger, if you know what I mean – hee hee).

  4. Zita Hildebrandt says:

Did you know the f is nowhere near the k on a qwerty keyboard? I have no idea where boof came from.

  5. Ari says:

*accepts tea and cake and offers a muffin* Thank you! I really want to read White Cat and Shade. I also intend on reading the Demon’s Lexicon. Eventually. Probably over the summer. If my book fairy could bring me something early I would ask for your book! Or
The Red Umbrella by Christina Diaz Gonzalez. Or Sea by heidi R. Kling. So hard to choose!

I do actually have a book fairy though and it’s awesome! I wish I could give everyone a book fairy, but I try to be a tiny one by holding giveaways ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Kaz says:

      If that’s a blueberry muffin, I’ll take it!! ๐Ÿ™‚

I love being a book fairy, too. Giveaways are awesome; I have some good ones planned… *is mysterious*

I want to read BOTH of your picks – The Red Umbrella sounds very interesting and cool. Also, Heidi’s SEA is going to be brilliant. I’ve known her online for a couple of years now & am highly anticipating it.

p.s. Do you have The Demon’s Lexicon? I have a UK paperback I could send to you… (it’s signed)

      • Ari says:

๐Ÿ˜ฎ *my mouth has dropped open* That would be beyond amazing! But I don’t want to take your signed copy.

and it’s whatever muffin you want. I’m more partial to chocolate chip myself ๐Ÿ™‚ Hmm not sure what else is served at tea…

I’ve heard great things about Sea so I’m super excited to get my hands on it (and I can review it since one of the mcs is Indonesian). I just love the description of the Red Umbrella and it’s getting some good reviews.

  6. Iceneko says:

Omg Demon’s Covenant! Auntie Sarah has been meanie with her teasing chapters from it. Which make me what it more, or possibly Beautiful Darkness *drool*

  7. Jess says:

Oh, your Book Fairy is marvelous! I need to stop buying books for a few weeks to catch up on my TBR pile. I’d want Mockingjay most, but since there won’t be ARCs of that, I’d happily settle for Radiant Shadows. And Demon’s Covenant is on my top 10 most-anticipated for 2010 too.

    • Kaz says:

Yeah, The Demon’s Lexicon and Fragile Eternity were my top 2 reads of last year. I am very lucky to have such a wonderful Book Fairy… She brought me BOTH follow-up books. *beams* Though I have to hurry up and give them back! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  8. Nikki Egerton says:

Oh I’m so jealous, I want a book fairy! *pouts*

There are millions of books I want to read, but two I would absolutely love to get early are Rachel Vincent’s Alpha and Ilona Andrews’ Magic Bleeds.

Maybe if I’m really really good, fate will find a way….

    Enjoy your reading xxxx

    • Kaz says:

Nikki, I’d love both of those too!! Yes, Rachel’s Alpha for sure. Oh and Magic Bleeds… *pines* I can’t wait to see what happens between Kate and Curran. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  9. Oh if the book fairy can send me LINGER by the great Maggie Stiefvater I will be a good girl for the rest of the year. xD I’m also DYING to read The Scorch Trials by James Dashner, Runaway by Meg Cabot, Everlasting by Angie Frazier, The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff … the list can go on and on! But right now, these are top few books I’m dying to read.

You have an awesome bookfairy, enjoy the books! I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts of them!

    • Kaz says:

LINGER is on a lot of people’s lists right now – and with good reason!

I haven’t even read Dashner’s first book… Hmm… I must fix this. ๐Ÿ™‚ Oh yes, Angie Frazier’s book is right up there, and Brenna’s (her cover is so amazing).

Thanks for commenting! I will repay the visit.

  10. Firewolf says:

Iron Witch… ๐Ÿ™‚ And anything by Timothy Zahn and Kelley Armstrong. Oh and The next Kvothe book by Patrick Rothfuss. Emm… I could keep going… I should stop now ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Kaz says:

Hmm… Iron Witch? Who wrote that… LOL! You’re so sweet. *g*

I still need to read the FIRST Kvothe book. I have it on my groaning bookshelves.

  11. Ana says:

This book fairy-ninja sounds like the bestest person in the world EVER *grin*
